The other day, apparently there was a tornado warning. I didn’t even know about it until it has been cleared and safe. If it wasn’t thanks to my friends on Facebook, I would’ve never even knew about it.
This is why I go online, to check on what is happening in the world around me. Honestly, I never check the news unless it’s for a class or I am just really bored.
Social networking sites are great places to find out about news and whats happening in the world. Twitter’s hastags are up to date and can tell you the most recent topics people are talking about, good or bad.
Personally, I feel like news are filtered and I would like to know the details, when I want to.
Also, why would I go read the newspaper when I can get a summarize version of it on my news feed on Facebook or my updates on Twitter?
I don’t know about everyone but I like to just get straight to the point. I rather read about something I have an interest for than some news about some person who I have no idea is.
Instead of picking up a newspaper, I can go on a site that has millions, or even more, people talking about the same thing in that newspaper, for free. We contribute what we want, and have a conversation with other people around the world.
